Growing Up 03:57
I burned my tongue today Too hot but I drank it anyway I should have known better Yes I can accept that But I had to wake up some how What are you doing up anyhow You could have slept in late And it's too damn early I thought I could handle it But I really can't handle it now I guess what I'm trying to say Is that I'm still learning Each and every day Your parents didn't have it figured out                                            Although it looked that way I thought that I'd get it I hate to admit it But I'm still growing up I got these bills to pay But you want a video game And I'm not going to lie I kinda want it too The foundation has a crack And How do I fix a flat The basement's going to flood Have you seen my hammer Maybe I'll just tape it up Can it wait until tomorrow What I'm trying to say Is that I'm still learning Each and every day Your parents didn't have it figured out                                            Although it looked that way I thought that I'd get it I hate to admit it But I'm still growing up Every day is played for time If you want me get in line I've only got so many hands I need more like ten There's got to be some secret Some hidden minute aspect That makes it all make sense     If you know please tell me I'm keeping my eyes open Maybe one day I'll figure it out Cuz what I'm trying to say Is that I'm still learning Each and every day Your parents didn't have it figured out                                            Although it looked that way I thought that I'd get it I hate to admit it But I'm still growing up

Hello it's very nice to meet you Please tell me If I scare you I'm new to this kind of thing This is my first time above ground And im learning my way around The place you humans made I'm a synthetic man With a synthetic heart And synthetic hands Hear me now and understand I want to be more than The grand sum of all my parts Dear me I think I have a question What an unfamiliar function To not know something Lately I've been having failings Or maybe these are feelings Do humans get those too I'm a synthetic man With a synthetic heart And synthetic hands Hear me now and understand I want to be more than The grand sum of all my parts I'm thinking maybe You all might find this Strange and confusing Please I'm not here to hurt you I only want to watch you And learn from what you do At night my circuits are a disco I dream in ones and zeroes Of becoming one of you I'm a synthetic man With a synthetic heart And synthetic hands Hear me now and understand I want to be more than The grand sum of all my parts

I forgot I lost my psychic powers And I dropped my crystal ball setting up your flowers Ready or not I'm fixing up our little home I'll put something funny on the door So it will remind you just who I do this for Come check it out And maybe try and stay awhile Well I think I'm kinda knowing what I really should be doing Despite what I hear from you And if you're saying to leave Please take no mind of me As I'm knocking shoulders out the door So I'm lost I can't find where I'm going Maybe throw me a line if you're so goddamn all knowing Reel me in I promise I won't give you a fight Your family Won't say that I am kind You ask me for water and I bring you turpentine Your mother don't like me And your daddy he won't talk to me Maybe I Should have seen this coming Always jumping the gun when my heart gets a racing I'm disqualified With my foot over the starting line Well I think I'm kinda knowing what I really should be doing Or I like to say I do Cuz I'm counting by the dozen on your sisters brothers cousins Before I end up finding you Well I think I'm kinda knowing what I really should be doing Or I like to say I do Cuz I'm counting by the dozen on your sisters brothers cousins Before I end up finding you Well I think I'm kinda knowing what I really should be doing Despite what I hear from you Cuz I'm counting by the dozen on your sisters brothers cousins Before I end up finding you

I know a lot of people and they change their clothes every day You know that it's quite common and normal in just every way But no one said you're normal I certainly didn't say You're really a whole new breed You pick the latest fashion and turn it on its head When someone even looks at you funny Your personality drops like it's made out of lead And you pick a new one up in a hurry It's so hard to pin you down and you don't cut me any slack If you were younger I'd say it's only a phase But the orbit of your moon is way out of whack It's giving me tidal waves I gotta wear kid gloves to even attempt to try and handle you I got the scars to show your words have bite And to think you want someone to share everything you do It won't happen try as hard as you might Your panic alterations are killing me Killing me killing me Day in and out I hope for some progression You'd think I'd learn my lesson You were happy when I knew you long ago Long ago long ago Maybe one day we will see you again I'll stick around until then
